BIO

Charlotte is an examiner and Fellowship member with the Associated Board of Dance. Charlotte has had many years of teaching experience with both children as young as 2 years of age, and in professional colleges in London. Before becoming principal of Charlotte May Academy, she had an extremely successful career as a professional dancer and performer working in London and all over the world. Charlotte’s credits include; various professional musical theatre shows touring and West End, and backing dancer for music artists and music videos such as Take That, S Club 7, Pixie Lott, and many more. Charlotte was also nominated for a prestigious ‘Carl Allen Award’ for performer of the year.


Charlotte first began her training at the age of 3, with Suzanne Sims School of Dance, and went on to study at the “London Studio Centre” with a full scholarship where she gained her DipHE in Dance and Performing Arts.

Suzanne Sims

BIO

Suzanne Sims is a registered teacher and former examiner with Associated Board of Dance. Her early training was with Diane Screen and Lynne Jeffries with whom she performed in local and national productions.

Suzanne qualified in 1987, and shortly afterward began her own school, which she run for 20 years before passing it on to her pupil Charlotte May. In that time Suzanne won several awards for the highest national examination results.

Elle Parker

Elle has been a student with Charlotte May Academy since the very beginning and has been a very popular student teacher with the young students she has worked with.

Elle recently joined the team as a teacher for the younger students, alongside Suzanne and Charlotte.

Jack Bowtell

BIO

Originally hailing from the Ribble Valley in Lancashire, British baritone Jack Bowtell, graduated his BMus in Vocal Performance in July 2018, from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.

After progressing on to The David Seligman Opera School, under the tutelage of Donald Maxwell, Jack graduated in July 2020 with distinction in MA Advanced Operatic Performance.

Jack has been privileged to work with such eminent Welsh companies as Music Theatre Wales and BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Welsh National Opera. Alongside his operatic work, Jack has established a strong teaching base in the city, and is a sought-after singing teacher offering lessons from his Cardiff studio.

Lee Moulton-Davies

Lee has a vast amount of experience in entertainment. In his younger years, Lee was an international gymnast representing Great Britain. From there he went on to perform in ‘Pirates Adventure’ in Majorca and various other shows around the world. He then returned to the UK to work in the film industry as a stunt performer.

As well as having vast experience in coaching acrobatics and gymnastics, Lee is also a qualified personal trainer. Lee helps CMA students learn how to safely perform tricks that can be used in various dance routines.


Ella-Louise Appleby

Ella-Louise is a professional ballet dancer from Pontypool. She started dancing at the age of 4 and hasn't stopped moving since! In the 5 years she has been a professional, Ella has performed with a number of prestigious ballet companies including Tivoli Ballet Theatre, Brecon Festival Ballet, Ballet Cymru, Allegrodance Touring Company, Constella Opera Ballet and most recently the International Classic Ballet Theatre. Here she danced in the Corps de Ballet and was also honoured to make her debut as a Soloist this Christmas in Swan Lake and The Nutcracker ballets.

In addition to performing on stage, Ella has starred in short films for the BBC, featured in music videos and is also now a brand ambassador for major ballet brand Gaynor Minden.

Ella moved to Cheshire in 2015 to study at Kate Simmons Dance on the Classical Course, and graduated with a Trinity Level 6 Diploma in Professional Dance in 2018. Alongside her diploma Ella chose to study for her teaching qualifications at the same time and achieved both DDI and DDE in ISTD Cecchetti Ballet before she graduated. Ella has 8 years of teaching experience and has a real passion to inspire, educate and help the next generation of dancers to thrive.
